Creating and hosting online events with SwApp.

Set up an online-only event

Create a dedicated attendee event page for webinars, livestreams, virtual classes, meetings, and other online experiences. Add the links and instructions attendees need, then decide who can access the page.

Set up your online event page

Your online event page is a private event page for attendees. Use it to share a meeting link, webinar link, livestream, joining instructions, downloadable resources, or anything else people need before and during the event.

1. Set the event location to Online

  1. Open the event builder.
  2. Go to Date and location.
  3. Select Online event.
  4. Save your changes or continue to the Online event page step.

2. Add the main link attendees will use

On the Online event page, add a live video or audio link. This can be a Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, YouTube Live, Vimeo, webinar, or another provider link.

3. Add supporting content

You can add extra text, images, videos, or links for preparation notes, event materials, speaker resources, schedules, or follow-up content.

Tip: Keep the first section focused on how to join. Put optional reading, downloads, and extra instructions below it so attendees do not miss the important link.

Choose who can access it

By default, the attendee event page is intended for people who have registered or bought a ticket. You can review this from Page Settings on the Online event page.

Ticket holders only

Only registered attendees can view the online event page. This is best for paid events, member-only sessions, private classes, and events where you need to protect the joining link.

Anyone with the link

Anyone who has the online event page link can view the content. Use this only when you are comfortable with the page being shared beyond registered attendees.

Important: If you disable the online event page, make sure your confirmation message and reminder emails clearly tell attendees how to join.

Understand the attendee experience

After someone registers, they should be able to find the online event page from their ticket, confirmation information, and reminders. The page gives them one reliable place to return to when it is time to join.

  • Attendees register or buy a ticket from your event page.
  • They receive confirmation details after registration.
  • They open the attendee event page to access the link and event resources.
  • If access is restricted, they may need to use the same details they registered with.

Before you publish

Before making your online event live, review the details that affect both discovery and attendance.

  1. Add a clear event title, image, summary, and description.
  2. Confirm the event date, start time, and end time.
  3. Add your online provider link and any attendee instructions.
  4. Create at least one ticket type.
  5. Preview the event page and test the joining link.
